What does the term “strapping” mean?
Strapping is a procedure to secure goods. The goods are strapped for the transport with steel strapping or plastic strap, whose ends are certainly connected with each other. The strapping provides for maximum stability of the load and holds together bundle or palette loads reliably.
Which kind of strap is used, depends on the concrete use. Today packaging strap made of plastics like PP or PET are valid as a good alternative to steel strap. They are light, cost less, offer the advantage of high elasticity and do not corrode. However, at high temperatures steel strap must still be used for the packaging.
