Successful performance at Hanover

With new contacts and contracts in the luggage, the exhibition team of TITAN returned from Hanover, where the strapping expert presented its novelties on a 63 sqm booth at the EuroBLECH.

The hand devices of the German technology leader were viewed particularly interested by the international visitors. "The strong demand for our cordless tools has even surprised ourselves," says Harald Pollehn, who is responsible for the sales. Devices for steel and PET strapping were sorrounded equally at the well-attended booth.

Another trend the team has seen in Hannover: Plastic strapping will continue to increase. Cost advantages are likely to be the main cause here, but also the technical progress that brings more powerful materials and surfaces, is likely to play an important role. "With a large selection of equipment for the plastic strapping and perfectly tuned strap from our own production TITAN is well prepared for this growing market," reveals Thorsten Frettlöhr, Sales Manager Europe, optimistic about the future.

A special highlight of the fair, which drew the attention of the visitors, was the double strapping head VS 32, driven with servo motors. It is no longer working with compressed air, but completely electric. "The advantage is, that the strap is sliding through the band channel nearly twice as fast as in the pneumatic version. The avoidance of compressed air is also less expensive, requires less maintenance and forces stable conditions. In this way a fast output at attractive costs can be achieved" explains Günther Näckel-Birkenfeld, Sales Manager for strapping tools. A prototype of the new technology is already in successful operation and mass production will begin soon.

Although the investment mood is rather hesitant in general, TITAN looks to the future with confidence: "Logistics processes are not possible without transport security and strapping is the cheapest and most flexible option here . In particular, our fully automated systems pay for themselves quickly and are just under high cost pressure a good investment, "explains Günther Näckel-Birkenfeld. The special engineering of TITAN has therefore full order books - even or because times get rough.
