In 1974 the beverage industry discovered the material PET for unbreakable, lightweight bottles. Polyester, at those times basically used for cloth, has begun its success story in the packaging business and is still used for foils, pharmacy cans, fabric – and strap.
Made of oil it can be modeled very easily so you can mold it in any shape you need. This can be repeated very often, so you can recycle PET-products many times. For using them again, they are ground to flakes, cleaned from impurities and yarn to fibers. From 16 PET bottles you can make one sweater. Especially China is importing used PET for its textile industry so many of our bottles come back to us as a fleece blanket or a sweatshirt.
On its way around the world PET gets often in touch with TITAN. At first the palette of bottles is strapped when it is delivered to the supermarket. The pressed empty bottles are wound and strapped, too, after you bring them back to the store for recycling. The containers for the oversea transport are probably lashed with TITAN devices and the fibers and sweaters will probably be strapped again with TITAN machines. For all these applications from palettes to lashing and fiber packaging, TITAN offers specialized solutions. And many weeks later, when the postman brings your new snowboard dress to your door, the package is probably strapped again with TITAN.
